Fonderie de Cloches

La Fonderie de Cloches is a “must see”place during your time in France. Situated in the ancient copper town of Villedieu-les-Poeles in Normandy, the foundry not only casts bells for churches worldwide, it was also right by the race route of the 2016 Tour de France.

When the vast furnaces are lit for the casting of large bells, temperatures reach 1,200 degrees. Tall chimneys are required for such industry.

Plan your day around a visit to the foundry. Then enjoy a coffee dans un cafe pres de l’eglise de Villedieu-les-Poeles. We certainly enjoyed our family day out to Villedieu.
