We’re delighted to welcome Le Tour back to Yorkshire. OK, its going to nip over to Manchester for supper but they’ll soon be racing back to Sheffield as fast as they can.
- Stage 1 – Leeds to Manchester
- Stage 2 – Manchester to Sheffield
Landslides permitting, the Snake Pass will be open for a spectacular climb between Glossop and Ladybower. Just look at it. Photos from my ride over the Snake directly below. Stage maps below the photos. Check out more news as released on https://www.letourgb.com/ and see the other news feeds at the foot of this page.
That’s a splendid route through the Peak District – touching the Monsal Trail, up through Tideswell, haring through Hope and Castleton, up Winnats and then onto the Snake. I’d been excited about Bamford bells ringing for the race but now that the actual route has been revealed it looks more like the churches in Tideswell and Hope will have prime position roadside. Hmm, I have an idea 🙂

“Derbyshire County Council is among the partners working with race organisers as route planning continues.
Councillor Charlotte Hill, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Potholes, Highways and Transport, said: “We are delighted that such a prestigious race is to come to Derbyshire. Our hills and dales are much enjoyed by cyclists all year round, by people who live locally and those that visit us from further afield. The profile the race will give us will mean that we can share our beautiful scenery with a wider audience.”
